Hello. You can call me Coral. Yes, that’s a pseudonym. My parents didn’t name their only son after a marine invertebrate. I’m a college sophomore, and this is my online journal. I write about myself first, then everything else. I comment on issues and events. I (will) review books and movies. I’m thinking of writing stories too. As for poems, the best I can do are haiku.

Why spend time on my blog? Well, the only real reason is if you’re interested in how a 17 year old sees the world.

Disclaimer: The title of my blog is French, but I’m not.

Failure is Not Inevitable

It’s been months since I last posted anything. The toxicity of my academics until the end of March and the wave of laziness that comes with the heat of summer resulted in a dry spell for my writing. But I’m back. And I feel like shit. The good news: I ran for a position in … Continue reading

It’s that feeling of doing something that scares the shit out of you and saying “fuck it”. It’s when your mom tells you to wash the dishes and you end up breaking a whole bunch of them, and you own up to it instead of blaming it on the dog. It’s when you can go … Continue reading

About two weeks ago, I noticed the #100HappyDays pop up on my Facebook feed and Twitter timeline. … Continue reading

That’s my personality type, according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).My way of thinking, decision-making, leadership, social interaction, habits, and idiosyncrasies can supposedly be explained by this personality test. What I know about myself should be found within those 4 letters: INTJ. I is for Introversion, N is for Intuitive, T is for Thinking, and … Continue reading

Three Ways I Survived Bullying

I grew up in the early 2000s, an era that despite being nearly a decade away still feels like yesterday. It was a time when the summers weren’t too hot, and the rainy season didn’t bring destructive floods. It was a time of my innocence and naivete. It was also the time I was bullied. … Continue reading

Dreams are my escape. I can’t help but daydream from time to time. My mind would begin to wander, stretching far into the horizon of my imagination. Asking myself the “why nots” and “what ifs” of life. But there are even greater dreams. The dreams that occur during a good night’s sleep are the chance … Continue reading
